Her name was Burning Sky her hair was nightmare black
With wooden beads tied into it
It flowed way down her back
Her skin was was roasted walnut and her eyes robin blue
With lips of crushed rose petals kissed with glistening dew
She wore buckskin and it held her body like a glove
When she moved was like a snake
She was passion lost in love
She would lay out in the sun her body drinking in the rays
When I first saw her sensualness my mind was in a haze
Breasts like summer melons ready for a feast
Toes painted till they sparkled
The sun rose in the east
She spoke to me of painted sunsets we laughed at crescent moons
She taught me to hear music in the trees
She said that sweet desire was the best of fire
And more than once shared honey like the bees
She saw me weep with wonder and saw me swoon with smiles
As she gave her tenderness to me
The drumming in her heart set her far apart
As cool as snow and warm as being free
She looked at me and a tear rolled down her cheek
She spoke of other places in her mind
That when she had to go
That I was sure to know
That she would always love me long as time
She told me that the world was better just for me
The universe I could hold in my hands
Sometimes she would dance as if in a trance
Wet with summer rain her dripping tan
I told her that my years seemed to be near gone
I told her that I yearned and long to know
The echo in a stream hopping over rocks
While it hide and seeks with moonlight's glow
She understood my thoughts just read between the lines
Then kissed me softly rose and she was gone
I awoke alone and somehow felt such peace
As if the troubles of the world had finally been released
Sometimes I think I see her in a field of soft green
Or flying with an Eagle strong and proud
But mostly in my heart I know her tender words
And screaming with great joy I yell out loud
The vast beyond and with it all
the earth unfolds a new
Burning Sky my only one I
Always will love you!
